New Child Protection Book Helps Victims Survive After Abuse & Conquer Trauma

Clif Taylor is a passionate mindfulness advocate who believes that children really are the future, that they deserve better, and that you can do more to protect them.

His disruptive book, which is titled ‘Somebody Has to Protect the Children,’ further develops Clif Taylor’s patented VSC Initiative. This acronym stands for Victim Survivor Conqueror, and the initiative has been designed to help young victims of tragedies, including assault and sexual assault, to survive their experience and ultimately conquer it.

The release of his book, which arose out of mindfulness strategies to help the victims of trauma and abuse heal, coincides with a rising epidemic of child trauma in the US. According to the American Psychological Association (APA), more than two-thirds of children report having experienced a traumatic incident before the age of 16.

Moreover, children and adolescents’ exposure to sexual abuse is now sadly one of the most common traumas they endure, with a vast 25 to 43% of all children affected.

If you find these sobering statistics to be distressing, then you will agree with Clif Taylor and Connected Spirit Publications that more frank and meaningful conversations need to be had about how to equip children with the tools they need to begin healing in the wake of experiencing a traumatic event.

Taylor wants readers like you to know that “Being a survivor can happen naturally after living through a traumatic experience and learning how to move on. But conquering the trauma involves awareness of the ability to heal and the determination to discover how healing takes place.”

As such, in ‘Somebody Has to Protect the Children’ he teaches you his proprietary mindfulness technique. This technique, which is called Clear, Calm and Open, could help a child you know to move to a more focused, balanced, and serene state of mind, in which they can begin to consciously address the trauma that they have experienced and process all the concomitant emotions that relate to that trauma, without closing down or shutting off.

Although the topics of trauma, abuse, and sexual assault that the book deals with are very confronting and harsh, you will appreciate that Clif Taylor also delivers a message of resilience, hope, and love. He hopes that the book will encourage more victims to speak up about what they have endured and that it will encourage you to do more to stop the horrible blight of child abuse.

Through Connected Spirit Publications, Taylor has previously published books to educate and enlighten young readers, including ‘You Are,’ ‘Match,’ ‘Snowflake,’ and ‘Oak Tree.’ You can purchase any of these on his website.

Clif Taylor said of his mission and the release of his latest book, “Protecting the children will keep me at a roar because our children are worth it. Their innocent lives depend on the adults in their lives and it’s time for all of us to create a better world and life for them.”

He continued to add that, “It’s important to me that every child experiences the blessings of life that surround them every day. That’s why CSP’s children’s books share messages of love, beauty, and inclusion. ‘Somebody Has to Protect the Children’ is my way of asking all adults to help children experience the beauty life offers them without becoming victims of the ills that can befall them.”
