Programmed to be quick and simple to use, the service enables you to create huggable memories from the comfort of your own home. “After you upload a personal photo to the service, it generates a mock-up of the pillow that you can edit and adjust until you are satisfied,” explained a spokesperson for Pilloo. “Once satisfied, you just have to select the shapes, sizes, and quantity of pillows you want and submit your order.”

In terms of shapes, Pilloo gives you the choice between traditional shapes, like squares, circles, and triangles, or a custom shape, which in most cases, will be the shape of the subject in your photo. For sizes, they are a bit more limited, offering small (16”), medium (24”), large (36”), and life-size (60”).

The pillows are all cut and sewn by hand at Pilloo’s Montreal factory using high-quality materials and tools. For the shells of the pillows, they opt for a combination of soft velvet and wrinkle-free polyester, while for the stuffing they use a poly-fil.
No corners are cut with the printing either! The advanced sublimation technique that Pilloo uses transfers the photo on the fabric using inks, resins, and heat, ensuring that the print will last for many years. It also produces sharper and bolder images than other printing techniques, so you won't get a blurry, fuzzy, or pixelated pillow.
