When the company upgraded the F10 from the F8, there were not a lot of changes, as they already had a winning bike. However, with the F12, Pinarello has found ways to improve on this excellent design even further. The main alteration is in the aerodynamics, where the F12 saves about eight watts at 40kp/h over the F10. One way this was done is by decreasing the visible cables. There are no visible cables on the handlebar of the Disc version, which ensures up to a five percent drag reduction.
The frameset of the F12 is stiffer, offering more stiffness from the bottom bracket for an overall ten percent improvement compared to the F10. Pinarello was able to make the bike lighter due to improving the carbon material, which means no sacrifice in strength for the lighter weight.
