Psychologist Dr. Tracy Thomas Explains the Painful Truths Shown by the Suicide of Cheslie Kryst, Former Miss USA

Dr. Tracy Thomas - What Cheslie Kryst teaches us about traditional psychotherapy

I'm Dr. Tracy Thomas, PhD, Wall Street Journal best-selling author of The Commitments: A Step-by-Step Guide to Personal Transformation, an Emotional Scientist, and a renowned psychologist, explains what the painful, shocking death of former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst tells us about the traditional psychotherapy model, and how that informs the work of my company, Dr. Tracy Inc.

Cheslie Kryst seemed to have it all: the beautiful lawyer was crowned Miss USA in 2019, and used her work as an attorney to fight for social justice. She was also the New York correspondent on the TV show 'Extra.' Cheslie was open about her struggles with mental health, speaking in 2019 on the Miss USA Facebook page about how she was seeing a counselor. And yet on Sunday, January 30, she died at the age of 30 after throwing herself from her apartment building in Manhattan.

While we can never truly know what drove Cheslie Kryst to kill herself in such a dramatic way, I have some ideas, based on my work with hundreds of successful, emotionally-sensitive people. When you have the life people want but are emotionally sensitive, it can be an incredible burden. She was going to counseling but wasn't getting better. If the traditional therapy model doesn't work for a person, they can feel hopeless. They may have the perception that there's no way to transform the situation, and tragedy can be what happens.

The traditional psychotherapy model can be helpful for some people, but for those who are emotionally sensitive, it can sometimes make their issues even worse. Dwelling on past trauma can reinforce the pain, which keeps people stuck in the past, unable to move forward. That’s why my method is different.

Dr. Tracy Inc. is my emotional training company that gives people the emotional tools they need to succeed, so they can transform their painful emotions. My company specializes in helping people transform their emotions into millions of dollars - leaving behind emotional struggles such as anxiety, depression, addiction issues, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Rather than dwell on these difficulties or believe that they are a permanent state, my method focuses on helping transform their most difficult emotions into their most powerful momentum for success and flow. Our training process has people connected to the here and now and has them connected to the future as their emotional training for intentionality, so emotions and conditioning and processing and focus and orientation is going forward into their desired intentions."

As I detail in my book The Commitments, our lives are not meant to be one long reaction to pain. When you shift into your intentions consistently you can become laser-focused on your goals and achieve them far faster and more effectively than before.

Designed specifically for high-level achievers, my groundbreaking method goes beyond “coping techniques” and surface-level strategies. It’s the path to rapid emotional evolution and growth. You can learn more about it at DrTracyInc.com, where you can book a free consultation to assess your intentional capacity compared to what you'd like it to be, allowing you to get a highly valuable assessment of what it takes for you to become your most intentional self, putting distracting and impacting reactivity in the rear view mirror, and making focus, creativity, productivity and prosperity a way of existing for life.

Much more on how to transform your emotions into millions, and moving forward instead of backward can be found in my book, The Commitments, which is an Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Wall St. Journal bestseller. https://www.drtracyinc.com/the-commitments
