If only world hunger could end with the snap of a finger.

From individual volunteers to large, well-funded organizations, millions of people will have to work relentlessly for a long time to make sure every child is well-fed.

Joey's Food Fight contributes to hunger relief efforts as an educator and provider. In line with its mission to empower children in need, the charity supports orphanages in Chicago and beyond, imparting invaluable knowledge and skills to kids around the world.

To leave a long-lasting impact beyond raising money and providing meals, the charity builds kitchens for orphanages. It also teaches children about sourcing and cooking food while encouraging them to develop confidence and be self-sufficient.

According to the global humanitarian organization Action Against Hunger, undernourished people increased by as many as 150 million from 2019 to 2022. By serving orphanages in multiple countries, Joey’s Food Fight helps mitigate that number, providing sustainable resources and fundamental culinary skills to children in need.

Joey’s Food Fight started in its home city of Chicago, helping kids in Magnificent Mile, West Loop, Lincoln Park, and other neighborhoods in the city. Over time, its services became more accessible to children in other parts of the world.

Joey Morelli, a chef, and restaurateur with many years of experience in the food industry, founded the non-profit to give back to his community. With his culinary expertise and sense of humor, Joey’s Food Fight makes learning how to cook an enjoyable experience for kids.

Aside from providing the necessary resources and teaching culinary skills at orphanages, the non-profit also serves food to teen shelters three times a week in partnership with StandUp For Kids.

The Joey's Food Fight YouTube channel features food recipes and projects carried about by the charity. Those interested in cooking videos and learning more about the non-profit can visit https://www.youtube.com/@joeysfoodfight

With the help of like-minded organizations and people, Joey’s Food Fight continues to expand its reach and make a difference in the lives of underprivileged children. The charity is open to more partnerships and volunteers in its quest to make a large impact on the world.

Founder Joey Morelli said, “I aim to visit ten different countries and build kitchens in orphanages, providing meals and teaching culinary skills.”
