Though pending state authorization, the program has been designed to comply with the strict standards of the necessary accreditation associations, including the CAEP, CCSSO, InTASC, and DEED.

When you enroll for this program, you will be assessed against national and state standards to ensure you are adequately prepared for teaching in the state of Alaska, a college representative explains.

The 120-credit program is divided into four categories, including educator preparation, biblical studies, Christian ministry, and general education, with the majority of program requirements in educator preparation and biblical studies having 48 credits and 27 credits, respectively.

ABC explains that its Educator Preparation courses provide you with foundational knowledge of teaching, classroom management skills, and proven instructional strategies, while the Biblical Studies courses cover surveys of the Old and New Testaments and doctrines.

The remaining credits required to complete the degree are spread out among Christian ministry (9 credits) and general education (36 credits). The Christian Ministry courses include Evangelism and Discipleship, Missiology, and Servant Leadership. The general education courses cover subjects like English, history, mathematics, philosophy, science, and sociology, which all students are expected to take.

Upon completing the program, you would have acquired the skills to identify and address various learning needs, apply curricular knowledge, create engaging lesson plans, and employ effective instructional strategies.

In addition to the BA in Education program, Alaska Bible College offers a BA in Biblical Studies and Christian Ministry and certificates and AAs in Bible and Ministry.
