Support the Building of the Kade Damian Healing Hearts Park in Georgetown

Mar 3, 2020

After the loss of our two-year-old boy, we’ve started a charity to promote safe play for the children of Georgetown. Support our efforts at our fundraising event on April 30th at the Berry Creek Country Club.

If you have children, you know how important it is to guarantee their safety. Now, imagine if the unthinkable were to happen.

It happened to us. Our two-year-old boy, Kade, passed away while trying to climb an open picket wrought iron fence when his neck got caught between the two posts. This should never have happened. No parent should ever have to bury their child.

In light of this devastating situation, we’ve established a charity to honor our sweet little boy. The Playful Child is a non-profit organization with the goal of providing education and a safe place for children to play in Georgetown.

Our main goal over the next few years is to build the Kade Damian Healing Hearts Park. We’ve been approved by the Georgetown City Council for 6 acres of land along the San Gabriel River Trail, and design of the memorial began in December 2019.

It will cost roughly 1 million dollars to complete the project, so we’re relying on you, the members of our community, to support the cause.

There are many ways you can help. You can donate directly by clicking the link above, or you can buy tickets and/or sponsor our upcoming fundraising event.

The event, Songs in the Key of Kade, is being held on April 30th at the Berry Creek Country Club from 7:00PM to 10:00PM. The evening will consist of musical performances by Bruce Robison & Kelly Willis, and Guy & Jeska Forsyth.

Tickets, sponsorship and advertising information is available at the link above, and all proceeds will go toward the building of the Kade Damian Healing Hearts Park. The memorial park will be a place for children, families and the community to gather and heal hearts through play.

If you are unable to attend this event, please consider advertising or donating directly to the charity. And stay tuned for more upcoming fundraisers and educational programs.

In addition to building the memorial, our charity provides education and resources for children to learn and play in a safe environment. Through art, dance, music, and theater we teach children the importance of outdoor, hands-on play and less screen time.

Our main mission is to create a world with healthier, happier children, families and communities. Please help us achieve our goal and keep the memory of Kade Damian alive. See you at the event on April 30th.
