As the global pandemic enters its second year, American Nurses Association California has significantly expanded support services for state registered nurses in the San Diego, Sacramento and San Francisco Bay Area.

In these challenging and harrowing times it has never been more important to know that you are not alone. That’s why the California chapter of the American Nurses Association has expanded their efforts and membership services, getting you the help and support you need.

The announcement coincides with the latest CDC statistics regarding the ongoing pandemic, which indicate in no uncertain terms that among the nearly 300,000 infections of American health care personnel the toll has fallen hardest on nurses.

In fact, a recent study published by the LA Times indicated that over two thirds of hospitalized healthcare workers were nurses just like you.

As such, there has never been a more important time for you to have the full support of your advocacy body.

By taking up membership with the American Nurses Association of California you can help yourself, your colleagues and your patients get the political, media and legislative attention and recognition you all deserve.

Utilizing the power of numbers, ANA California can help to create meaningful change and improvements for member nurses in San Diego, Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area in the form of updated legislation, regulation and policy.

Their expansive legal watch and regulatory services are especially critical in this time as the Californian public medical system continues to suffer under the pandemic and as nurse shortages continue to force existing workers to commit to more overtime, often in increasingly untenable conditions.

You now also have the opportunity to attend their advocacy institute, which empowers you with the skills to become a professional nurse advocate, in turn enacting positive change for fellow nurses in your community.

The mission statement of American Nurses Association California is to enhance the health and well-being of Californians and advance the profession of nursing by focusing on the four key paragons of quality care, quality experience, quality profession and quality nurses.

As American Nurses Association California member and the Nurse Manager at UC San Diego Medical Center Laura Chechel said, “All nurses should be a part of ANA California to ensure our collective voice is heard in policy and legislation that affects our daily practice.”

It is American Nurses Association California’s mission to make the lives of nurses just like you better, ensuring you receive the representation, rights and benefits that you truly deserve.
