Telehealth technology has reached new levels with remote vital signs and heart health monitoring.

Monitoring Heart Health Remotely through Facial Scans

Heart rate variability (HRV) and the standard deviation of NN intervals (SDNN) are two measures that are commonly used to assess heart health. HRV is a measure of the variation in time between heartbeats, while SDNN is a measure of the overall variability in heart rate. Both measures can be used to assess the health of the cardiovascular system and to identify risk factors for cardiovascular disease.

HRV is thought to be a good indicator of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) function, which controls involuntary bodily functions such as heart rate, blood pressure, and respiration. The ANS has two divisions: the sympathetic nervous system (SNS), which promotes arousal and stress response, and the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS), which promotes relaxation and rest. An imbalance between the two divisions of the ANS is thought to be a risk factor for cardiovascular disease.

SDNN is thought to be a good indicator of overall heart health. It is a measure of the variability in heart rate, which can be affected by factors such as stress, physical activity, medications, and underlying medical conditions. Elevated levels of SDNN have been associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease.

HRV and SDNN has traditionally been measured using a variety of methods, including electrocardiography (ECG), Holter monitoring, and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. HRV and SDNN can also be calculated from data collected during exercise testing or from data collected during daily activities using wearable devices such as fitness trackers or smartwatches.

However, I and my staff at In Good Health PC are measuring HRV-SDNN levels remotely using an artificial intelligence app. The patient downloads the app into his/her cell phone. The app operates the cell phone camera in conducting a facial scan. From this scan Dr. Sharon and his associates are able to read the HRV-SDNN level, stress level, blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation percentage. With the latest in telecommunication technology, telehealth has revolutionized medicine and with this next-level artificial intelligence using remote facial scans, Dr. Sharon and his staff have revolutionized telehealth.
