The Cloud Computing MicroMasters program on EdX covers both the theoretical and practical aspects of cloud computing. It was designed for students like you who would like to become cloud architects, engineers, developers, or administrators.

In the first course, you will learn about Infrastructure As A Service (IaaS), Platform As A Service (PaaS), and Software As A Service (SaaS) platforms and the ways in which they can help businesses improve productivity and cut costs.

The second course covers public and private cloud infrastructure and will include practical lab projects, during which you will migrate a website to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) IaaS environment.

The third course focuses on cloud migration, the implementation of cloud solutions, and the various problems that can arise with these processes, including legal and compliance issues. You will also get acquainted with the industry standards and best practices.

The fourth and final course covers security breaches and the implementation of appropriate security policies for their prevention.

If you want to earn the MicroMasters program certificate, you need to successfully complete all four courses and pass the final proctored exam. If you decide to apply to UMGC’s graduate school and are admitted, the program will give you up to 12 credits to be counted toward the 36 credits needed for the Master’s degree in Cloud Computing Architecture.

Greg Wenzel, Executive Vice President for Booz Allen’s Digital Solutions Group, said: “Programs like UMGC’s MicroMasters program in Cloud Computing are excellent opportunities for people seeking to stay ahead of the curve, learning about cutting-edge cloud and modular technology solutions that are required to excel in a modern, 24/7 environment.”

The program will help you gain expertise in cloud computing foundations and models and learn to use these technologies for improving business efficiency.
