Micropigmentation is a convenient and time-saving alternative to regular makeup. However, to legally carry out permanent makeup procedures on clients in New Jersey, you must be certified by the AAM.

This involves completing the SPCP or AAM approved 100 hours of micropigmentation training, an apprenticeship and an online examination. Luckily, with Hudson Beauty Bar’s Permanent Makeup Apprenticeship, working towards your certification has never been easier.

As a student, you will hone the essential skills required to begin establishing your own clientele, while learning about all the PMU industry’s latest trends and developments. By practicing your procedures on 9 different models, you will gain extensive experience with different skin types, designs and requests.

Esther is on hand at all times to give feedback and advice, helping you to become more confident in your techniques. This support is extremely valuable, even if you already have some experience in PMU.

To qualify for enrollment, you must have completed SPCP or AAM approved 100 hours of micropigmentation training, which is also offered by the clinic. The program then builds on your basic abilities, helping you to create a professional portfolio showcasing a total of 15 procedures.

Based in Edgewater, Hudson Beauty Bar has successfully coached over 260 students, offering five training courses alongside its range of micropigmentation and beauty services.

The clinic’s founder, Esther Yim, is an esthetics graduate who became a qualified PMU artist in 2013. Esther is a regular PMU client herself and is committed to keeping up to date with current beauty trends.

A spokesperson said, “Our mission at Hudson Beauty Bar is not only to help people feel better about themselves, but to help anyone who wants to change their lives by showing them a new career they will love.”
