COSMOS Grows in 2021

2021 is about to come to a close, and a new year with new hope, adventure & profits are on the horizon. The interest in diverting from the traditional stock market to crypto was at an all-time high. While flagship cryptos like Bitcoin and Ethereum reach all-time and highs and lows. But in reality, the industry is just in its infancy and has not yet reached it full potential. With this, the Cosmos(ATOM) and its blockchain universe making a strong stand on the crypto universe.

2021 Highlights for Cypto as a whole include the creation & rise of meme coins and NFTs(non-fungible tokens). Then turn to China increasing hostility and then ban crypto mining as a whole. El Salvador became the first county to make Bitcoin its legal tender at the start of tokenization. Also saw the first Bitcoin ETF on the New York Stock Exchange in October. This allows cryptocurrencies to be purchased directly from traditional investment brokerages.

Let turn the focus now to COSMOS (ATOM) https://cosmospixie.com/. In January Sifichain announced a Cosmos-Ethereum bridge connecting around 25 blockchains. This will allow Cosmos Network users to be able to use their tokens on Ethereum. Cryptocurrency holders on both sides will be able to take advantage of the benefits of one chain while holding a position on a token native to another, bringing the universe one step closer to Sifchain’s mission of connecting liquidity on all blockchains.

February 18th the launch of IBC on the Cosmos Hub to enable token transfers for reliable and secure inter-blockchain communication. Enabling token traders for IBC connected chains. Thanks to IBC, blockchains no longer have to exist as siloed ecosystems unable to communicate with each other. Blockchain networks can avoid overcrowding and bloat from too many decentralized applications (dApps) competing for throughput on a single base layer.

Forte is a blockchain platform that enables game developers to store virtual assets and NFTs in a secure manner. Working with Forte will help propel Cosmos to a wider audience and cement its place as a leading blockchain ecosystem. Cosmos developers will work with Forte to ensure that all third-party game developers on the Forte platform can access Cosmos’ technology and easily integrate their games with the Cosmos network.

Another highlight of 2021 was that, after so long of having to work remotely and speak over video chat, the Cosmoverse event brought the community together. Cosmoverse, organized by Cryptocito and DeFi Times in Lisbon on Nov 5 and 6, was an extra-special event, drawing some of the most interesting projects and personalities in the Cosmos ecosystem and giving two full days of inspiring content and conversation.

So as the world enters 2022 the future of the Cosmos Hub is looking very bright and taking the Cosmos DiFi to the next level. Interchain accounts will be coming to the Cosmos ecosystem while increasing access and security. And the contented growth of the IBC connectivity will continue to excel and connect more blockchains to the network. The developer network will continue to expand with new ideas, products, and features.
