Bear Creek Feline Center, The St. Joe Community Foundation Welcome Wild Wishes®

Bear Creek Feline Center and The St. Joe Community Foundation host March 5, 2024 Wild Wishes® educational event for 12 students from Chautauqua Charter School, focusing on wildlife education and conservation in Panama City, Florida. Conservationist Chester Moore will lead the initiative, emphasizing environmental stewardship.

Bear Creek Feline Center is excited to announce its partnership with The St. Joe Community Foundation for the upcoming "Wild Wishes®" educational tour on March 5, 2024 at the Bear Creek Feline Center in Panama City, Florida. This collaboration aims to provide a unique wildlife adventure for 12 children and their teachers from Chautauqua Charter School, offering them an unforgettable experience in wildlife education and conservation.

Jim Broaddus, Director of BCFC, states “We’re honored to host this event with The St. Joe Community Foundation and partner in education, conservation and preservation of Northwest Florida.”

In this educational adventure, the students will be introduced to wildlife, with the goal of fostering a deeper connection with nature while promoting conservation awareness.

“The Bear Creek Feline Center is a unique non-profit that exudes environmental stewardship through their love and care for the animals they provide homes for,” said April Wilkes, Executive Director of The St. Joe Community Foundation. “It is our pleasure to support their mission and partner in this environmental educational experience for these outstanding students.”

Prominent wildlife journalist and conservationist Chester Moore will lead the event. Moore developed the Wild Wishes® program specifically for children with critical illness or those facing traumatic loss.

Moore highlighted the importance of partnerships with organizations like BCFC and The St. Joe Community Foundation in reaching children nationwide. “Our partners at places like Bear Creek Feline Center in Panama City, Fla. make it possible for us to reach kids all around the nation,” Moore said.

Beyond being Editor-In-Chief of Texas Fish & Game Magazine, Moore also contributes to Sports Afield and other publications. His radio program "Moore Outdoors"can be found on iHeart Radio Newstalk AM 560 KLVI and locally on WYDD FM 107.5.

The collaboration between BCFC, The St. Joe Community Foundation, and Moore’s organization, Kingdom Zoo Wildlife Center®, exemplifies a shared commitment to inspiring future generations towards wildlife conservation.

Media, BCFC staff, and all wildlife enthusiasts are invited to this inspiring experience at 10:00 AM on March 5 at the Bear Creek Feline Center.
