Trusted London Hip DAA Specialist For Athletes: Fast Return To Full Mobility

May 2, 2024

Did you know that a hip replacement doesn’t have to slow you down? With an advanced surgical procedure and a top specialist to help, you can be back on your feet in no time with full mobility, and practically no risk of a dislocation.

The other day I got a hip replacement surgery... but it's like, really underground, you probably haven't heard of it.

Hipster jokes aside - that's actually kind of accurate, there really is a new hip replacement surgery, and if you haven't heard of it, I wouldn't be surprised. It's not the usual dinner-table talk - but you can learn all the details by continuing to read my blog, or by visiting https://mskdoctors.com

Here's The TL;DR Version.

No time to read the full blog? Here's everything you need to know, fast.

  1. The SPAIRE procedure is new, but well-tested, and clinically proven to offer a whole bunch of benefits.
  2. By changing the "angle of attack," surgeons can prevent damage to many of the important muscles and tendons in your hip, while still doing a complete replacement.
  3. That means less surgical trauma, less damage to heal, and a faster recovery.
  4. With those muscles intact, you can practice walking with crutches right away, and return to your normal routines in no time.
  5. Less damage to heal means a lot less pain - and a better chance of getting your full mobility back.

If you want to know more of the specifics, well, honestly you may be better off booking a visit with a professional. It's easier than you think.

Straight From The Source.

If you need a new hip - don't take your advice from me, or anyone on the internet, talk to a real specialist.

It's okay if you're in a hurry, because my specialist doesn't require a referral from your GP, and doesn't believe in waiting lists. At MSK Doctors, you can always get a near-immediate appointment, whether it's for consultation, diagnosis, or even treatment.

They don't even mind if you're a new client, so if you're in a rush, just book online or over the phone, and ask an expert about your options.

Personally, I suggest Prof. Paul Lee. Not only is he the founder of the MSK Doctors clinic, but he's also their hip and knee specialist, and he helped to perfect this technique when it was being developed. You can't really ask for better than that.

The Clinical Trials.

The SPAIRE technique, or Sparing Piriformis and Internus, Repair Externus, has been through extensive clinical trials, with incredibly promising results.

In recent studies, it was shown that this new technique significantly reduces the potential for post-operative hip dislocations, with up to 3.9% of patients with a traditionally repaired hip experiencing a dislocation, but no dislocations were reported among SPAIRE patients.

According to the experts, this is because with all the muscles preserved, your hip is already stronger right after the surgery, than it would otherwise be during the healing process. That makes sense, but it's only one of the benefits.

There was also reduced pain, a faster return to normal activities, minimal blood loss, and in many cases, a return to full mobility.

Know Your Options, First.

There are only two more things that you need to know, so I'll try to make this quick.

This is not your only option - it's not even your only advanced and improved option.

There's also a technique called BIKINI, which MSK Doctors also specialises in, and here's the kicker - it can practically eliminate the visible scarring. I'm not going to go into a ton of detail, if you're worried about the scarring, just ask your specialist about the BIKINI option.

It's also a less-invasive, faster-healing technique, but with its own set of benefits.

The other thing you need to know, is that these techniques are still new, even if they are very well-tested and documented. Not many surgeons have a lot of practice at them.

My advice is to always stick with a specialist with experience in the particular procedure you want - for the best results. Clinical trials agree, when performing the BIKINI technique, surgeons with more experience in that exact technique were able to get significantly better results at hiding the scarring.

When in doubt, just ask MSK Doctors. They've got your back, or your hip, whatever you need.
