Earlier today, Hearing First finally announced the release of the new Starkey Soundlens Synergy i2400 - a Wireless Invisible In The Canal (iic) Hearing Aid, which has been in development since 2015. The main aim, in conjunction with the Starkey SurfLink Mobile, is to add wireless capabilities to the next generation of truly invisible in the canal hearing aids... but it does so, with a difference.
Jason Levy, Head of Audiology at Hearing First, says: "We wanted to try something new with the Starkey Soundlens Synergy i2400. Anyone familiar with the Hearing Aid market will probably have noticed how in general the rule used to be that when other manufacturers made invisible in the canal hearing aids and added wireless, the resulting instruments would be much larger than expected, resulting in them being visible when worn... This is a problem because clients want to be able to stream sound and phone calls from their iPhone®, Android® phone or iPad®, but don't want their hearing aids to be seen..."
So as a welcome breath of fresh air, the Starkey Soundlens Synergy i2400 will instead allow clients to have truly invisible hearing aids that are capable of streaming audio from YouTube®, BBC iPlayer®, iTunes®, FaceTime ®, Google Play Music® and other music and video players, as well as having hands free mobile phone conversations, with the sound going directly into their hearing aids. Hearing First chose to make this move because previous invisible in the canal hearing aids did not have wireless capability, or were not truly invisible if wireless capability was added.
Jason Levy also said "We want to give our customers the confidence to wear a truly invisible hearing aid that enables them to stay connected with their high tech world. The With the Starkey Soundlens Synergy i2400, they have a fresh new possibility. We want them to feel confident and connected when using them. Trying something new is always exciting, as we like to be able to offer our clients the very latest and best hearing aid technology."
Hearing First has been in business for eight years, being established in January 2008. Since Day 1 they have always aimed to improve people's lives, by providing the best hearing care.
This isn't the first time Hearing First have defied convention either. In 16th April they caused a stir when they added a Saturday microsuction clinic in their Baker Street branch.
