Did you know that babies in Bali can’t touch the ground till they’re three months old? Because babies are sacred and floors are unclean. So logically, at three months and one day - what?! Poor un-sacred kid!

Crucial Constructs, a marketing consulting company, has issued a new report for digital nomads who may be interested in temporary resettlement in Bali - a world-famous tourist destination just south of the equator made up of many distinct areas, from night-club chic in the southern center to a more relaxed atmosphere in Canggu.

The new guide by the company dispels the myth of Bali as only a party haven and reveals that Bali - and specifically the Canggu area - is a magnet for remote workers, lured by the inexpensive living, fast and secure wifi connections, and growing community of like-minded digital nomads.

Of course, if your mind is set on surfing and parties, there's that too!

Bali, an island of four million inhabitants, is the only Hindu-majority province in Indonesia. Six million tourists pass through Bali each year, but the majority cluster in the south-central areas of Kuta, Legian, or Seminyak - well-known nightlife hotspots with numerous western restaurants and stores.

Crucial Constructs’ report indicates that Canggu’s more laid-back atmosphere and working conditions have drawn in most of the remote workers. Digital nomads can choose from modern cafes like Crate and Zin or dedicated co-working spaces. These offer high-speed internet, functional desks, and a proper work environment - as well as networking opportunities. ‘Outpost Canggu’ is one of a chain on the island and features air-con work zones, meeting rooms, workshop spaces, private offices, and video call booths.

The Canggu area has become increasingly popular for digital nomads in the last several years among influencers and content creators, in particular. In Bali, most people live in villas that can be either shared or private. A modern villa with a pool in Canggu may cost $500 per month per room. However, a basic villa a little further away - in Perrerenan, Berawa, Umalas, or Kerobokan - would be far less expensive.

One fact more relevant for digital nomads than regular tourists is visa extensions: the 30-day visa issued on arrival for American and European visitors can only be extended once, for an additional 30 days.

“If Bali is one of the premier digital nomad areas in the world right now, Canguu is its heartbeat,” said a Crucial Constructs spokesperson. “The combination of affordability, quality of life, and easy, fast connectivity is unmatched.”

And the food, as someone says in the report, is superb!
