With widespread claims that the US is facing a ‘retirement crisis,’ one South Carolina financial advisory firm explains that seeking retirement advice can often put minds at ease.
If you’re anxious about your ability to support yourself in retirement, you aren’t alone. Multiple studies have shown that the majority of Americans feel the same way. How well do you understand your personal finances? Do you have a retirement plan in place? You might find that your worries are unfounded.
You may believe that financial planners are for rich people or those with huge investment portfolios, but that couldn’t be further from the truth, explains South Carolina consultancy TruNorth Advisors. An advisor can not only help you understand your financial situation, but also put a manageable plan in place that sets you up for the future.
“There are many considerations that come into play as you financially prepare for your future, such as investments, tax, long-term care, and legacy planning,” Matt Dixon of TruNorth Advisors explains. “For that reason, a retirement plan should consider a wide range of factors, and be tailored to each individual situation.”
A recent study from Allianz Life surveyed 1,000 US adults, aged 25 or older, and with an income greater than $50,000 annually. The research found that 64% of respondents were worried about running out of money in retirement, which Allianz Life states is higher than it has been for some time.
While Americans are faced with many financial pressures, some of the anxiety surrounding retirement can be addressed with better planning, explains TruNorth Advisors. Matt Dixon, the firm’s CEO and founder, states that he has seen an overnight change in some clients after beginning to work with them.
“This firm is awesome. They gave peace of mind to my husband and me by explaining everything in detail,” states recent client, Sandra M. “So professional. I feel assured and comforted that our financial future and wishes are secure, and that they will assist our heirs when needed. Each and every staff member welcomed us, such a feeling of family.” Sandra and her husband have been clients of TruNorth since 2024. No compensation was given for this testimonial.
The first step in finding the right retirement planning advisor is to look for firms with professional affiliations, such as the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC), or the Association of Financial Consultants (AFC). Those organizations maintain standards of education, experience, and ethics, giving you greater assurance that your advisor is professional and has your best interests at heart.
