Irving Health Insurance Addresses Longstanding Problem With ACA’s Regulations

Nov 15, 2022

Rick Thornton, an Irving health insurance agent, says the average annual premium for a single worker jumped from $7,700 in 2021 to $22,000 for a family, according to statistics from the Kaiser Family Foundation.

Irving Health Insurance Addresses Longstanding Problem With ACA’s Regulations

Irving health insurance has plenty of benefits to millions of Americans who were previously uninsured or underinsured, namely the opportunity to finally have affordable healthcare thanks to continuing subsidies from the federal government and the Affordable Care Act. But for all its benefits, there are still the occasional holes that the current administration is trying to eliminate so that more people can receive proper healthcare. One of the bigger glitches that affected some 5.1 million Americans — the majority of them children — has finally been resolved. And the news came just in time for the November 1 open enrollment period, officials say.

Individuals and families looking for cheaper health insurance in Irving can now go to Healthcare.gov and get the coverage they need without worrying about any delays or obstacles getting in their way. According to several published reports, the current administration fixed an oversight addressing the affordability of employer coverage. Under the law, workers who don’t have affordable health insurance options through their jobs could qualify for subsidized plans through the ACA exchanges. However, the ACA previously didn’t take into considering the increase in premiums for adding family members. That number topped $22,000 for a family in 2021, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. Now, that problem is resolved. Not only can individuals receive healthcare they deserve, but so can their families — especially their children. According to CNN, about 1 million people would either gain coverage or see their premiums reduced.

Rick Thornton, an Irving health insurance agent , said the rule change goes into effect in January, though it’s important to note that interested families must sign up during the open enrollment period. He noted that a record 14.5 million people already signed up for 2022 coverage during open enrollment, largely because of enhanced federal subsidies. The best part is that those subsidies were extended through 2025 as part of the Inflation Reduction Act in August.
