Health insurance in Arlington looks strong after latest ACA popularity polls

Mar 9, 2020

Rick Thornton, a health insurance agent in Arlington says it will be difficult for the current administration to devalue the ACA and possibly end it if so many Americans continue to approve of its existence.

Arlington health insurance is suddenly being looked at a tad differently now that two polls have emerged showing that the Affordable Care Act has reached unprecedented heights in terms of popularity among the American public since it was signed into law a decade ago. One of the surveys was done online and had answers from 1,000 registered voters and 200 additional interviews with political independents who didn’t lean one way or the other.

Conducted by Navigator Research, the first poll found that 54% of Americans had favorable views of the program compared to 31% who did not. Nine percent of those polled said they didn’t know one way or the other. Since the same group asked in June 2019, there was a 1% overall increase in popularity. Meanwhile, another poll from the Kaiser Family Foundation was eerily similar. Public attitudes nationwide, including those who have health insurance Arlington, toward the Affordable Care Act showed 55% of Americans supported it, which is another record high. Around 37% opposed it.

Rick Thornton, an Arlington health insurance agent reminds everyone that this is great news considering the ACA has been in the current administration’s cross hairs for what seems like an eternity. The current administration wishes to dissolve the ACA in its entirety and start from scratch, and support for that plan of attack has steadily grown. The latest news might hurt those efforts, Thornton said. Health insurance continues to experience falling costs for average premiums. Obviously, this is a good thing for the consumers who can afford it, as they don’t have to pay an arm and a leg for coverage. The same data shows that 8.3 million Americans have signed up for coverage this year. This is only a 2 percent drop from last year.
