Drag Racing Fans Feel the Thrill Again with ‘Legends of 1968’ T-shirt and Merchandise

The drag strips of late 1960's witnessed two sibling cars competing with each other. These were the Dodge Super Bee, a low cost, bare bones street racer, and the Plymouth Road Runner. The 2018 edition of Carlisle Chrysler Nationals is where visitors can feel the thrills again in a grand show of over 3,000 classics. Visitors can get even more fun strolling around the Fairgrounds venue with the newly launched Legends of 1968 T-shirts and accessories by Quarter Mile Addiction.

As drag racing cars age, they take on a new charm and exude their legendary aura even more. The Carlisle Chrysler Nationals this year will celebrate 50 years of thrill and competition that was kept going by the legends of 1968 - Dodge Dart, Dodge Super Bee, Dodge Charger, Plymouth Barracuda and the Plymouth Road Runner. The Fairgrounds venue will turn into a paradise for Mopar lovers, and on show will be year-wise categories of makes and models, indoor displays, fun for kids, and special prizes.

The Coronet line car moved from a standard engine with 426 Hemi option in 1968 to an A12 package the next year. This was the 440 Six Pack, featuring fiberglass hood, 15”steel wheels and other features that made it the coolest street racer from an OEM. In 1971, Dodge redesigned the car into a Charger with an E-body platform, but discontinued the Super Bee the following year.
