Dallas Health Insurance Multiplies Greatly During Open Enrollment

Rick Thornton, a Dallas health insurance agent, says the astronomical ACA enrollment numbers is a sign that Americans realize lower healthcare premiums won’t be around very long after 2022.

Dallas Health Insurance Multiplies Greatly During Open Enrollment

Dallas health insurance numbers are soaring beyond anyone’s expectations as the first couple of months of 2022 quickly tick away. The President — with his continued promise for lower premiums for all Americans — recently announced that a record 143.5 million people have signed up for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act for 2022. This is big news considering Affordable Care Act hasn’t been in the news very much recently. But there is no denying that it continues to set record enrollment numbers with zero signs of slowing down.

According to a recent article written by The Hill, Biden attributes the skyrocketed enrollment numbers to increased financial assistance under the American Rescue Plan that blue-state lawmakers in Congress passed last year. That law slashed premiums for millions of Americans, including individuals and families who now have health insurance in Dallas. The law also lifted the income gap to allow more people to be eligible for assistance. The Biden administration also reversed cuts to outreach and advertising spending made under the Trump administration, the article continues. “This did not happen by accident,” Biden was quoted as saying in The Hill article. “The American Rescue Plan did more to lower costs and expand access to health care than any action since the passage of the Affordable Care Act.”

Rick Thornton, a Dallas health insurance agent , added that the rush to sign up may also be because Americans realize the time limit on such a great opportunity for affordable coverage. The President’s Build Back Better proposal extends through 2025 but is currently stalled among lawmakers who aren’t sure about its longterm benefit. This has created a “get it while you can” mentality among Americans who deserve affordable coverage but might run out of time if not careful.
