Automatic Window Cleaning Robot HOBOT-388 for Framed Smooth Vertical Surfaces and Countertops

Jun 22, 2021

Hobot 388 is a multipurpose window cleaner for framed smooth vertical surfaces, countertops, and sliding bathroom doors.

The HOBOT 388 is designed for cleaning vertical smooth surfaces. Its main purpose is to clean external glass (except for frameless). The low-profile design also allows the smart robot to handle barred windows with a gap of at least 95 mm between the bar and the window. In addition, the glass cleaner can be used to clean glass countertops, sliding bathroom doors, tiles on walls and floors.

Before using the wiper, you need to charge its battery, pour water into the tank, and secure the mops with plastic clips. The principle of operation of the Hobot 388 is as follows:

Pulling air through the slots in the rotating elements, the robot creates a vacuum under the napkins, which keeps it on the treated surface. The suction power of the Japanese NIDEC motor prevents the robot from falling, even when it crosses deep and wide joints in the wall covering. The only drawback of this engine is the loud noise, reaching 67 dB.

Through the nozzles in the tank, the robot sprays the detergent in front of it, and then runs over it with rags, washing away the dried dirt.

By alternately rotating the rags, the wiper moves over the surface and collects dirt. Glass processing speed reaches 4 min / sq. m.

On heavily soiled surfaces, it is recommended to carry out a three-step cleaning: first, treat the glass with dry napkins, then make the passage wet, and at the end - polish the surface using one dry and one damp cloth. On lightly soiled windows, the dry cleaning step can be skipped. At the end of each step, clean wipes must be charged into the wiper. A total of 14 cloths are supplied in the kit.

The spatial orientation system is represented by AI Technology 4.0, which reads the readings of the mop rotation sensors. With this navigation, the HOBOT 388 can determine the boundaries of the window - but only if the frame it rests against is present. The robot is not suitable for processing frameless surfaces.

To prevent falls in the event of a power outage, the wiper is equipped with a backup power source - a lithium-polymer battery. Its energy reserve is enough for the robot to hang on the glass for another 20 minutes before the user removes it. If the user ignores the warning sent to the smartphone, does not hear the alarm signal, and does not notice the blinking red light, the robot will not break anyway - it will be held by a safety cable.
