Myler Hughes is a children’s author who grew up in the English countryside, surrounded by nature and wildlife. Myler explains that it is this upbringing gave him a natural grounding and has inspired his story telling. His career began in his youth when he enjoyed drawing and writing silly stories on his old typewriter, little knowing that this would lead him to his Adventures of the Brave Seven series for children.

The author has announced the latest and last book in the Adventures of the Brave Seven series called Catch the Dark Cloud. Adventures of the Brave Seven follows three children called Dingo Ned, Millie and Mulwala. It also follows their animal companions Mereki the koala, Bluey Merloo the red kangaroo, Kooky the Kookaburra and Tuki the bullfrog. The group are on a mission throughout the series to save their Rainbow.

In Catch the Dark Cloud the group face their biggest challenge yet and attempt to catch the Dark Cloud and the Shadow. Mereki decides to take on the Dark Cloud and the Shadow face to face and the group have to combine their powers and face many obstacles, including guards and mazes, on their journey.

It is explained that the seven Australia based books in the series are written in a classical poetry verse style and are accompanied by hand drawn illustrations, with lots of colour and hidden gems.

Myler Hughes’ website features many extras for fans of his books, including freebies, a drawings gallery, introductions to his books and a mailing list. The freebies for children include downloadable colouring pictures, times tables posters, dot to dot puzzles and much more.
