Following its cancellation last year due to Covid-19, the parade organizers and sponsors are excited to officially announce its 2021 return.

The home of The Mayflower II, a full-scale replica of the ship that first carried pilgrims to America’s shores, Plymouth is fondly known as America’s Hometown.

Tracing the legacy of the pilgrims of the past, Thanksgiving has become one of the most formative events on many Americans’ calendars. Today, it is an opportunity for you to express and share gratitude for the many gifts we citizens of the US enjoy.

Since the parade’s inception over 25 years ago, it has become a fixture on the national Thanksgiving calendar. In honor of the 400th anniversary of Thanksgiving, this year’s parade will be bigger than ever and will feature many floats that you are sure to love. These beautiful floats will capture the town’s pilgrim legacy as well as every key period of US history.

Featuring local musical acts and high school marching bands, the parade will offer you a chance to become part of the tight-knit yet welcoming Plymouth community.

This year, the festival organizers are also happy to affirm their proud commitment to American servicemen and veterans with the addition of military bands and bugle corps.

The parade will be held on Saturday, November 20th with the festivities beginning at 10am. If you cannot make it in person, WCVB Channel 5 will air exclusive live coverage of the event.

Other popular events you can enjoy across the Thanksgiving weekend include concerts, historic village tours and family-friendly waterfront activities.

A spokesperson for the festival organizers said, “For 25 years, hundreds of thousands of people from all walks of life have traveled to historic Plymouth to experience a bounty of authentic Americana. The celebration of Thanksgiving becomes history-brought-to-life as Pilgrims, Native Americans, Soldiers, Patriots and Pioneers proudly climb out of the history books and onto the streets of Plymouth”

Plymouth’s parade is regularly named one of the top Thanksgiving celebrations in the US, but their work is only made possible through the kind sponsorship of local and national businesses.
