I want to share three of the main things I do to prepare myself to meet my real estate business goals every single year.
Hey, there! I am Ruthie Gallardo Owens, Ruthie the Realtor. I want to talk to my fellow realtors to make sure that, just like myself, you are getting ready to have a successful 2022.
I want to share three of the main things that I do to prepare myself to meet my real estate business goals every single year.
Interview Three Brokers
The first thing that I do is that I interview three brokers, including my own. So, I interview my own broker and two others, even when I have no desire nor do I plan on leaving my brokerage.
Why is this important? It is so important to do this for your business because you need to know what is being offered out there. You need to really keep up with the changes that are happening within your own brokerage, because there’s going to come a time where, although your brokerage may have served you very well in the initial time of your career, it may no longer be serving where you’re going.
It’s about keeping an eye on what’s happening out there. Again, often, I’ve gone years without ever switching. So, it’s not about switching, just about you being well informed.
Set Goals Now
The second thing is to go ahead and set your goals now — in November. Don’t wait until January. Goals that you start working on now, that you have time through the end of the year to really flesh out are going to be more likely to stick than those that you just come up on the fly in January because that’s what you feel that everyone is doing and that’s what you have to do.
Reflect on Past Year
The very last thing is going to be to really reflect up on the previous year. So, it’s November, you have plenty of data to reflect on from 2021. Reflect on what goals did you achieve that you set back at the beginning of the year. You achieved them. What led you to actually achieving those?
And what were some of the goals that were set to the side? Why did we set them to the side? Sometimes we just didn’t meet them. Sometimes they didn’t really fit the way we thought they would fit, so we casted them to the side for a little bit later.
So, let’s evaluate those and reflect upon those decisions we made in order to make sure that we bring the ones that still need to be worked on to the next year, and that we just get some closures on the ones that will not be our goals for the future.
