It's been a whirlwind few months and today we are reflecting on our release of our 100% cotton face masks launch 3 months ago, which was in development for 2 weeks. The main aim was always to provide everyday protection against smog, smoke, pollutants, while looking stylish.... and by defying convention, our cotton face masks did so, with a difference.

Michelle Van Der Water, owner at Bootypacks, says: "We wanted to try something new with our cotton face masks. Anyone familiar with the face masks market will probably have noticed how everyone else always seemed to make generic masks in the cheapest, most disposable fabrics. We felt this was a problem because face masks are worn every day and need to stand up to consistent washing over a period of time."

So as a welcome breath of fresh air, we developed our cotton face masks to mold to your face over time because it is 100% natural fiber. We chose to make this move because people deserve to feel protected in an uncertain environment and get value for money.

Michelle Van Der Water also said "We want to give our customers practical, functional face masks, while being stylish at the same time. With our cotton face masks, they have a fresh new possibility. We want them to feel protected but not forfeit comfort using our product. Trying something new is always a risk, but it's a risk we believe is worth taking."

Bootypacks have been in business for 3 years, being established in 2017. Since day 1 we have always aimed to repurpose materials to save environmental waste. Our masks are made from leftover scrap fabrics whenever possible, rescued from going to landfill.

This isn't the first time Bootypacks has defied convention either. Earlier in the year we caused a stir when we donated $2000 worth of masks to a children's hospital and healthcare workers. It was the beginning of the pandemic and just before the CDC announced face masks as mandatory. We were featured on KTLA news for our fundraising efforts to raise awareness of the PPE shortages in hospitals.
